Heuchera 'Opal' belongs to the group of large leaf (H. maxima) natives that prefer dry, shady conditions. They thrive under native oak trees or in similar situations. Once established, they require virtually no care other than removal of the dead flowers after they bloom in the spring. They are most effectively shown when planted in mass.

As a small perennial shrub with 2" wide, bright yellow, daisy-like flowers, blooms on this plant are seen seen almost year round. Its foliage is green in color. It is not as tolerant of coastal situations and it also seems to be more tender to frost. -Monterey Bay Nursery
